Course Curriculum
Module 1: Permaculture For Space Colonization
Permaculture Overview - The Basics of Permaculture & its relevance to permanent space colonization.
Learning Materials
S2 Permaculture Quiz #1
Module 2: Atmospheric & Environmental Modifications
Terraforming may require the modification of Atmospheric conditions, Gravitational Conditions, or other Environmental modifications in order to support livable conditions on another planet. This module includes overviewing terraforming processes such as the introduction of new mass, introducing new novel chemistry, or modifications to a planets magnetic field.
S2 Atmospheric Control Test
Module 3: Soil Types
Overview of Terrestrial & Extraterrestrial Soils & Regolith Types & the process of creating living soils using regolith as a base material.
Learning Materials
S2 The Soil Test
Module 4: Microbial Life & Fungus Role in Terraforming
Once environmental prerequisites are met, the seeding of microbial & fungal life forms will help to further assist with preparing the environmental conditions necessary to support higher forms life & enhanced biological activity.
Learning Materials
S2 Microbe Exam
Module 5: Plant Life & Vegetation
After microbial and fungal elements are rooted into techno soils & soil substitutes, hardier plant life & vegetation growth can be implemented using permaculture practices to create a regenerative cycle of growth that mimics natural ecosystem development. This process could be accelerated by the use of enclosed farms that grow vegetation in protected areas, then deploy drones which can spread soil, microbes, fungal spores & plant life to new regions over time. This module covers the Plant Life & vegetation - from management on Earth & within enclosed ecosystems to the installation of plantlife, on other worlds.
