Arctic Pioneer Arcology
A society that is self sufficient in energy, food, water, and many other resources, and trades for the other resources it needs. It is a corporate conglomerate democracy, largely administered by artificial intelligence and highly automated. The government is based on a council which has representatives from each of the corporations that make up the community, a group of elected representatives from the human population, and five independent AI counsellors that analyze the interactions of the government and provide feedback on likely outcomes of the actions proposed. Because the society operates so smoothly, the council only needs to meet once a quarter. The corporations represent power generation, AI data centers, the cryptocurrency data centers, tourism based companies, transportation companies, food production companies, the water company, and smaller independent companies that are based on the arcology because of the low taxes and safe-low crime society. (There are cameras in all public places, making crimes like robbery a no-win prospect for the criminal. Robots double as police and military, but they have never been needed in a military capacity. Almost all police actions are non-lethal, with the AI's generally being able to reason with the criminals to get them to surrender. Health care, is free to all employee-citizens and their families, along with education, and many other social programs. Electricity, housing, heat, and internet access are all free up to a reasonable limit, with steep cost increases beyond that limit to avoid abuse, such as wilful energy waste. All of these benefits are possible because the high productivity of the society makes resources abundant.
