Barnard's Star

The Proto-Ark Scout Vessel is a lightly crewed Semi-Autonomous AllMatter Micro-Factory Expeditionary Ark Ship that gathers in depth information from other solar systems that is relayed back to its home port, detailing a prospective star systems resources/material inventory so that future Colonial or Industrial installation operations can account for resource inadequacies. It is crewed by 25,000 and can support up to 35,000 residents with its self-sustainable circular industrial & biological support infrastructure systems. Proto-Ark Scout vessels will start to prepare a suitable location for larger colonial installation with solid tectonic support in a star system & its micro-factory will start to stockpile/scout for & locate primary resource mining sites for the arrival of future Arks & mining infrastructure establishments to harvest in larger quantities. Proto-Ark Scouting Vessel Crews may have to handle Cosmic Frontier conflicts with Apex native species, biological hazards, dangerous environmental or land conditions and assess the quality of the planetary options available - to determine where the future colonies should be built, or if the system is even a good choice for colonization, or just industrial resource acquisition, while we focus our efforts in other star systems.
